Our presenter will be L\u00e1szl\u00f3 Tihanyi, professional Hungarian folk dancer and instructor.<\/strong>
\nHis presentation will describe some of the extensive research done on Hungarian folk dance; the<\/strong>
\nvarious genres of Hungarian folk dance; the role of the \u201ct\u00e1nch\u00e1z\u201d movement; and some live<\/strong>
\npresentation of dances and interactive dancing. This promises to be informative and fun!<\/strong><\/p>\n

L\u00e1szl\u00f3 Tihanyi was born in Budapest, and began dancing in folk dance ensembles as a teenager.<\/strong>
\nA graduate of the Hungarian Dance Academy, he has performed with countless folk dance<\/strong>
\nensembles in Hungary. L\u00e1szl\u00f3 came to the United States at the invitation of the Eszterl\u00e1nc<\/strong>
\nHungarian Folk Ensemble in San Francisco, and since then has been an integral part of the effort<\/strong>
\nto teach Hungarian folk dance throughout America. His effort in promoting Hungarian culture<\/strong>
\n\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0was honored in 2020 by the Hungarian Consulate in Los Angeles.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 <\/strong>He is currently the artisitic<\/strong>director of the Cleveland Hungarian Scout Folk Ensemble.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This program will be in English. Because this this session is in-person only, it will not be <\/strong>recorded for later viewing. <\/strong>After the program our audience will have the opportunity to meet our presenter and enjoy coffee <\/strong>and refreshments.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Museum will be open from 1-4 pm; $5 parking is available in the Galleria underground <\/strong>garage.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The garage is a credit-card only facility.<\/strong>
