SUMMARY:Hungarian Folk Dance
DESCRIPTION:Save the Date and please join us for an in-person program on Hungarian Folk Dance\,\non Saturday\, March 19 th \, at 2 o’clock at the Hungarian Museum. \nOur presenter will be László Tihanyi\, professional Hungarian folk dancer and instructor.\nHis presentation will describe some of the extensive research done on Hungarian folk dance; the\nvarious genres of Hungarian folk dance; the role of the “táncház” movement; and some live\npresentation of dances and interactive dancing. This promises to be informative and fun! \nLászló Tihanyi was born in Budapest\, and began dancing in folk dance ensembles as a teenager.\nA graduate of the Hungarian Dance Academy\, he has performed with countless folk dance\nensembles in Hungary. László came to the United States at the invitation of the Eszterlánc\nHungarian Folk Ensemble in San Francisco\, and since then has been an integral part of the effort\nto teach Hungarian folk dance throughout America. His effort in promoting Hungarian culture\n                                             was honored in 2020 by the Hungarian Consulate in Los Angeles.                                                He is currently the artisiticdirector of the Cleveland Hungarian Scout Folk Ensemble. \nThis program will be in English. Because this this session is in-person only\, it will not be recorded for later viewing. After the program our audience will have the opportunity to meet our presenter and enjoy coffee and refreshments. \nThe Museum will be open from 1-4 pm; $5 parking is available in the Galleria underground garage. \nThe garage is a credit-card only facility.\nSuggested donation: $10 for adults and $5 for students.\nA viszontlátásra!!!!
